The Company Board

Some Notable Collectibles

The MOC in the center of the board is my favorite item of all time. In 2006, I was one of three people from BrickJournal invited to Billund Denmark to spend three days meeting with executives and receiving “behind-the-scenes” tours. One of those meetings was with Jorgen Vig Knudstorp and Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen. During that meeting, Kjeld grabbed one of the bins of bricks and made this model. At the end of the meeting, he handed it to me and said I could have it. Needless to say, I have treasured it ever since.

  • The tow truck, the gas pumps, and the trees are all from the initial era of the system of play where they combined bricks and pre-built toys to encourage play.
  • The clear bottle contains ABS pellets from the factory floor, ready to be injected into molds to make LEGO elements.
  • The red wristband is a “50 years of play” band. I honestly do not recall where I got it.
  • The box-cutter is a piece of swag handed out to employees in the US.
  • The gold brick is from the 50-years of play limited edition buckets. The silver brick is from the 25th Anniversary tub.
  • The engraved bricks represent events that I have attended and groups I have been affiliated with between the years 2001 and 2015.
  • The minifigs at the bottom are official business cards of various LEGO employees and executives that I have met or worked with.
  • The DUPLO brick is from my participation in the grand opening of the Concord Mills LEGO Store in North Carolina.
  • All of the small boxed sets are original items from the 1960s
